Legion of Mary
Our Lady Refuge of Sinner’s Praesidium meets weekly in our Chapel. They discuss how they will be of service to the Catholic Community and to the prison community as a whole. The members are assigned “works” which they carry out during the week. They also have a Book Burrow which provides a selection of Catholic oriented books and various prayer cards, pamphlets, study materials, and other sacramentals.
The Legion of Mary is the largest apostolic organization of lay people in the Catholic Church with well over 3 million active members in most every country of the world. Its purpose is to make its members better Catholics, first of all, through a balanced program of prayer and service in union with the Holy Spirit as He operates through Mary, Mother of the Church.
